STAFF.SH and EOK.SH offer free German courses for adult refugees and immigrants in Schleswig-Holstein.
You can take part in an EOK.SH and a STAFF.SH German course if you
- cannot take part in an Integrationskurs for individual reasons,
- cannot take part in an Integrationskurs for actual reasons, for example if there is no integration course on offer,
- do not have legal access to an Integrationskurs
When can you not take part in an EOK.SH and STAFF.SH German course?
- if you are still at school (of compulsory school age)
- if you already have a place in an Integrationskurs and it is starting soon
- if you are already taking part in an Integrationskurs
- if you have already taken part in an Integrationskurs
EOK.SH and STAFF.SH comprise 600 lessons. The German courses cover relevant everyday topics such as work, school and medical care. They impart knowledge about the way of life and manners in the new social, societal and geographical environment. The EOK.SH German course concludes with an A1 exam after 300 lessons. You can then continue learning in a STAFF.SH advanced course if
- you have a Duldung,
- your application for admission to an Integrationskurs has been rejected,
- you have one of the following exceptional reasons despite legal access to the Integrationskurs:
- physical/mental impairment,
- lack of childcare facilities for small children,
- care of a relative,
- unreasonable travel time,
- Ausbildung / work (after individual case assessment).
The STAFF advanced course concludes after 300 lessons with an A2, A2/B1 exam.
There are also STAFF.SH basic courses and STAFF.SH advanced literacy courses. The German courses comprise 800 lessons. In the literacy course, you will learn to read and write German sounds and letters. At the same time, you will learn German and gain knowledge about life and everyday life in Germany. After 800 lessons, the STAFF.SH German literacy course concludes with an A1 exam.
